The United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund Added New Corporate Partners, Now Exceeds $200 Million

United announced yesterday that that Aircastle, Air New Zealand, Embraer, Google, HIS, Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, Safran Corporate Ventures, and Technip Energies are now among its corporate partners.

(Chicago, Illinois) United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAL) announced yesterday that Aircastle, Air New Zealand, Embraer, Google, HIS, Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, Safran Corporate Ventures, and Technip Energies are now among the 22 corporate partners that make up The United Airlines Ventures Sustainable Flight Fund, which has exceeded $200 million in capital commitments.

The fund as a first-of-its-kind effort to reduce emissions and drive production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) through investments in startups, according to a press release from United.

In addition to committing more than $200 million since the fund’s inception in February 2023, United’s corporate partners - from various parts of the aviation supply chain (airlines, aircraft and engine manufacturing, fuel production, engineering, technology, finance and travel management) have committed to collaborating to provide strategic expertise to help the Fund’s portfolio companies reach commercialization, per United.

United has also included a means for its airline customers to participate in the Sustainable Flight Fund via the United.com or United app, which provides the option for travelers to contribute $1, $3.50 or $7 before check-out to supplement United’s Investment in the fund.

Additionally, United shows an estimated carbon emissions for flights booked via United.com or the United app; in less than 12 months, more than 115,000 people have contributed nearly $500,000 since February 2023, according to United’s press release.
