Space Equities Pop After Elon Musk Says He Wants to Get SpaceX IPO Underway ‘Pretty Soon,’ Per Bloomberg

(Tel Aviv, Israel) Space equities popped this morning – before retreating to more ‘normalized levels’ – after Bloomberg reported that Elon Musk told the audience at the Samson International Smart Mobility Summit in Tel Aviv this morning (May 18) that that he intends to get the SpaceX IPO underway ‘pretty soon.’

Bloomberg reported that SpaceX could file for an initial public offering as soon as this week, according to people familiar with the matter.
The rocket, satellite and artificial intelligence company is seeking to raise as much as $75 billion on a valuation of more than $2 trillion, which would make it the largest IPO of all time.
Shares of Firefly Aerospace (NASDAQ: FLY) and MDA Space (NYSE: MDA) held gains, and are up 12.05% at $45.28 and 9.06% at $41.30, respectively, as of 10.07am ET.
