Rocket Lab (RKLB) Shares Close Down More Than 12% After $750 Million ATM Equity Offering Announcement This Morning (Sept. 16)

Shares of Rocket Lab (RKLB) closed at $47.24 today after the company announced its $750M ATM equity offering, which allows sales over time by several different investment banks.

(Long Beach, California) Shares of Rocket Lab USA (NASDAQ: RKLB) closed lower in trading today (Sept. 16) after the company announced that it entered into a $750 million at the money (ATM) equity offering with underwriters this morning before the open.

RKLB shares closed down 12.57% at $47.54, erasing almost the entirety of this past week’s gains. Shares have risen 147.36% in the past six months.

The terms of Rocket Lab’s equity offering allows the company to sell up to $750 million of its stock over time through several different investment banks, instead of all at once; the sales can happen over time and at market prices, providing Rocket Lab flexibility to raise money as needed, according to Seeking Alpha.

The terms of the equity offering dictate that Rocket Lab is not required to sell any shares, and the offering can be cancelled, according to Seeking Alpha.

Per Seeking Alpha, Seeking Alpha and Wall Street analysts both have a consensus Buy rating on Rocket Lab (RKLB), while the Seeking Alpha’s Quant Rating stands at Hold.
