SpaceX said it would sell more than 555 million shares at $135 each in its IPO, which is set to begin trading tomorrow (Jun. 12).

(Starbase, Texas) As SpaceX officially finalized its initial public offering price at $135 per share for 555,555,555 shares of its Class A common stock, according to today’s (Jun. 11) statement from the company, retail investors bidding for shares have reportedly submitted more than $100 billion in orders, according to people familiar with the matter, per Bloomberg.

SpaceX is expected to allocate at least 20% of the available shares to the retail investor cohort, according to sources cited by Bloomberg.

At a $75 billion IPO size, which would be the largest on record – valuing SpaceX at $1.77 trillion – that allocation would leave the bulk of demand from individual investors unfulfilled, per Bloomberg calculations.

SpaceX is scheduled to begin trading on the NASDAQ under ticker symbol SPCX tomorrow, June 12th.

Bloomberg’s reported retail demand figure increased from the more than $70 million figure reported by Bloomberg News earlier today, as the tally of orders continued to rise during the marketing period.

Per Bloomberg, numerous large institutions – including sovereign wealth funds – have been allocated more than $1 billion each.
