Korean Air Selects Archer as Exclusive Partner, Plans to Purchase up to 100 Midnight eVTOLs
Archer will work with Korean Air as the airline's exclusive partner to introduce eVTOL aircraft in Korea.
(Seoul, Korea) Korean Air (KRX: 003490) and Archer Aviation (NYSE: ACHR) announced today (Oct. 20) the signing of an exclusive agreement to commercialize Archer’s Midnight electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in Korea; as part of the relationships, the parties plan for Korean Air to purchase up to 100 Midnight aircraft.

Per today’s press release from Archer, the partnership aims to accelerate the introduction of differentiated aircraft capabilities in the near-term while laying the foundation for the adoption of Archer’s aircraft across Korea.
Korean Air will initially use Archer’s Midnight for government applications, before expanding to additional use cases, per Archer.

As a reminder, Archer’s Midnight is a piloted eVTOL aircraft designed to carry four-passengers and perform rapid back-to-back trips with minimal charge time between flights. Midnight has the potential to replace 60–90-minute commutes by car with 10–20-minute electric air taxi flights that are safe, sustainable, low-noise and cost-competitive with ground transportation, per Archer.
