House Members to Receive Classified UAP (a.k.a. UFO) Briefing – Axios
The House Oversight Committee will receive a briefing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), better known as UFOs, next week.
(Washington, D.C.) Members of the House Oversight Committee will receive a classified briefing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) – previously known as unidentified flying objets (UFOs), next week, according to Axios.

The members-only briefing will be limited to committee members and given by the Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community; it will be held in the Office of House Security.
Interest in UAPs/UFOs has surged in recent years, with members of a group of lawmakers in both parties pushing for greater transparency from the government on the issue.
Earlier in 2023, whistleblower U.S. Air Force (Ret.) Maj. David Grusch alleged in several interviews that the Pentagon is withholding information about a UFO crash retrieval program, according to News Nation. The Defense Department denies that any such program exists.
According to Axios, Grusch claimed that the government was in possession of “nonhuman biologics” from a recovered UFO.
Grusch’s claims sparked a congressional hearing led by a bipartisan group of lawmakers from the House Oversight Committee this past summer; the claims also spurred the Pentagon to create a new, more transparent website to allow embers of the military and civilians to report encounters with unexplained phenomena, according to News Nation.
Specifically, the aforementioned group of Oversight Committee members led by Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) sent a letter to intel community inspector general Thomas Monheim in August of 2023 requesting more details about UFOs, including any programs to reverse engineer them or retrieve crashed UFOs. The lawmakers also formed a Congressional UAP Caucus, consisting of Burchett and Reps. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.), Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) and Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.).
On November 28, 2023 article in the Daily Mail Daily Mail claimed that a secretive CIA office has been coordinating the retrieval of crashed UAPs/UFOs around the world – which are subsequently handed over to private aerospace companies to study – for decades, according to “multiple anonymous sources,” and that U.S. special forces are coordinated to pick up UFO material that is then handed over to private aerospace companies to study.
The article read that “One source said that at least nine apparent ‘non-human craft’ have been recovered by the US government – some wrecked from a crash, and two completely intact.”
