El Al Israel Airlines CEO Dina Ben-Tal Ganancia to Step Down by the End of 2025
Dina Ben Tal Ganancia will depart Israel’s national airline after three years as CEO - during which the airline achieved record profits - and nearly 20 years in total with the airline.
(Tel Aviv, Israel) El Al Israel Airlines (TLV: ELAL) Chief Executive Officer Dina Ben Tal Ganancia has announced she will resign from her role by the close of 2025, according to various news sources today (Jul. 14); Ganancia’s planned departure comes after more than three years of leading the airline.

El Al’s search for a new CEO is currently underway.
Ben-Tal Ganancia stepped into the role of CEO of El Al in April 2022, during the height of the COVID-19 crisis. Per AviationA2Z, she helped the airline navigate challenges from the pandemic while also dealing with the Israel–Iran conflict and temporary airport closures at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV).
Despite the difficulties associated with the Covid pandemic and wartime occurences, El Al posted record profits under Ganancia’s leadership. Part of that success came from limited international airline activity in Israel due to safety concerns, which allowed El Al to capture a larger share of the market, according to AviationA2Z.
Per Globes, although El Al’s share price has been falling over the past month, the stock has risen 160% over the past year and has a market cap of NIS 6.4 billion.
In total, the cumulative net profit that El Al has achieved under Ben-Tal Ganancia’s management to date, in just under three years, stands at NIS 2.8 billion; at the same time, the company’s stock has jumped by over 300%, according to Globes.
Globes also reported that market sources believe Ganancia has offers to become CEO of a foreign airline.
Ben-Tal Ganancia worked at El Al for nearly 20 years in total and held top positions including Vice President of Commercial and Director of Revenue Management. Aviation A2Z reports that she gave early notice of her resignation so the company has ample find a strong replacement and ensure a smooth handover.
