EHang Opens First European Air Mobility Center in Spain
EHang's facility at Lleida–Alguaire International Airport (“LEDA”) (IATA: ILD, ICAO: LEDA) features a vertiport and other eVTOL essentials.
Spotlight on EHang (NASDAQ: EH), which on November 1st opened its first European Urban Air Mobility (UAM) center, including a vertiport, at Lleida–Alguaire International Airport (“LEDA”) (IATA: ILD, ICAO: LEDA) in Spain.
According to EHang’s press release, the center represents the first-of-its-kind in Europe for unmanned electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, and sets a benchmark globally for the effective integration of eVTOL aircraft operation with existing airport infrastructure.

The news comes on the heels of EHang’s recent (October 13th) receipt of the world’s first type certificate for unmanned eVTOL aircraft from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
Initial EH216-S passenger-carrying Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are scheduled to be delivered to customers in the fourth quarter of this year. This past June, regulators in China – where EHang will launch its first passenger-carrying flights – released new rules for unmanned aircraft flight set to take effect on January 1, 2024.
