EHang and Gotion High-Tech Co. Expand Partnership; Gotion to Deliver Customized Battery Solution for the EH216-S Unmanned eVTOL
The partnership builds on a power system framework agreement signed by the companies in December 2023.
(Guangzhou, China) EHang Holdings Limited (NASDAQ: EH) and Gotion High Tech Co. (SHE: 002074) announced today (Jun. 18) the expansion of their strategic partnership, which builds on a power system framework agreement signed by the two companies in December 2023; as part of the agreement, Gotion will deliver a customized battery solution tailored to the EH216 unmanned electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle series.

Motion’s newly-developed 46-series cylindrical battery cell marks the core of the solution; the battery cell offers high energy density and robust power output, according to today’s press release from EHang.
Per EHang, Motion’s next-generation battery system is expected to enhance the EH216 series aircraft in terms of flight range, thrust performance, and operational safety.
The EHang-Gotion partnership marks a strategic step toward building an integrated eVTOL energy system, with the companies planning to broaden their cooperation across EHang’s future aircraft lineup in order to advance battery innovation aimed at delivering safer, more efficient and cost-effective eVTOL solutions, according to EHang.
