Airbus Secures $21.4 Billion Order from China Southern Airlines
The deal is for 102 aircraft for China Southern and 35 aircraft for its subsidiary, Xiamen Airlines Co.
(Blagnac, France & Guangzhou, Guangdong) China Southern Airlines (1055.HK; 600029.SS) and its subsidiary Xiamen Airlines have signed agreements with Airbus (AIR.PA) to purchase 102 and 35 A320neo series aircraft, respectively, in a deal worth $21.4 billion, according to a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange today (Apr. 29).

Deliveries of the Airbus jets to China Southern Airlines are expected to occur between 2028 and 2032 in batches, while those for Xiamen Airlines are expected between 2029 and 2032, according to Reuters.
The news comes on the heels of yesterday’s (Apr. 28) 1Q26 earnings report from Airbus, which revealed a 52% decline in 1Q adjusted operating profit to 300 million euros, from 624 million euros in the same period a year ago; EPS were 74 euro cents. FactSet was expecting sales of 12.58 billion euros and EPS of 44 euro cents, according to CNBC.
Airbus shares (AIR.PA) closed up 5.13% at 174.62 EUR on the Euronext Paris exchange.
